The Story of Taupō’s Southernmost Masjid
Located at 57 Kaimanawa Road, the Taupō Islamic Centre serves as the spiritual home for local Muslims and travellers alike. As the southernmost masjid on State Highway 1 before Wellington, it welcomes guests from across New Zealand and around the world—becoming a cherished stop for many on their journey.
What began in 2015 as a modest prayer space for a few families has transformed into a vibrant hub for faith, learning, and outreach.
